Wickliffe — An Arkansas man died after colliding with a semi-truck in Ballard County Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 2 p.m. Kentucky State Police Post 1 troopers, detectives, and KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers responded to the 3600 block of Ky 121 in Ballard County for a reported collision with injury involving a commercial motor vehicle and a pickup truck. Initial investigation showed Larry D. Alcorn, 58, of Boles Scott, Arkansas, was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup with a goose neck trailer in tow. He was traveling north on Ky 121. Danny Hart, 67, of Hickory, was operating a 2014 MACK semi-tractor trailer truck, and traveling south on Ky 121. For an unknown reason, Alcorn crossed the center line and collided with Hart. Alcorn was declared deceased at the scene by the Ballard County Coroner. Ky 121 was closed for approximately six hours.

The collision investigation and reconstruction are being conducted by Trooper Aaron Jestes. KSP was assisted on scene by the Ballard County Sheriff’s Office, Ballard County EMS and the Ballard County Coroner’s Office.
