Two people were arrested Monday after Mayfield Police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the city.
According to information from the Mayfield Police Department, the reported shooter had fled the scene in a blue Dodge truck as officers were responding. The truck was located on Mayfair Drive and officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver ran off the road into a yard and then fled on foot.
Two passengers in the vehicle remained on the scene. After an investigation, stolen property that had been reported to the Mayfield Police Department earlier was located in the bed of the vehicle. Christopher Worley, 38, of Sharon Grove, and Kelsey Delk, 29, of Wingo, were both placed under arrest.
Worley was charged with Receiving Stolen Property Under $10,000, while Delk was charged with Receiving Stolen Property Under $10,000; Tampering with Physical Evidence; and Third-Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Both were taken to the Graves County Jail. The driver of the vehicle has not yet been located and the investigation is ongoing.
