Army promotes Taylor to captain

Daniel Taylor was promoted to captain in the U.S. Army on April 1 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where he is attending the Engineer Captain's Career Course and pursuing a master's degree in construction management at Missouri University of Science & Technology.

His previous military duty stations were with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Bliss, Texas, and the 92nd Engineer Battalion at Fort Stewart, Ga.

Daniel's father, Lt. Col. Jeff Taylor (U.S. Army, retired) conducted the ceremony and administered the Oath of Office. His wife, Rachelle, pinned on his rank while his son, Aiden, helped and daughter Anniston and mother, Victoria, observed.

Taylor graduated from Murray State University in 2014 and Graves County High School in 2009. His brother, Capt. Sam Taylor, is also serving in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, and recently completed a troop command. His parents are from Fulton, as is his grandmother, Mary Clymer. Daniel Taylor's wife is from Benton.
