Ice House Music History Class

Gourd Derby Car Class
Build a car for the derby with Ronn Moyers. Choose one of the two dates for the classes at the Ice House: Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 6-7:30 p.m. or Thursday, Sept. 19, from 6-7:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for a member or $15 for non-member. Chunky Chenille Blanket Class
Back by popular demand. Knit a blanket like Kaitlin Priddle. No knitting needles needed. Choose from eight colors: Silver, Dark Grey, Black, Burgundy, Bright Aqua, Dark Teal, Light Pink or Off-White. Please sign up by Sept. 14 in order to have the yard in by the class date, Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Ice House. The cost is $60 for a member and $70 for non-member. Chili Cook Off/Auction
The Mayfield/Graves County Animal Shelter will have its 'Annual Chili Cook Off & Auction' on Saturday, Sept. 28. in the Mayfield High School Commons. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Auction will begin at 6 p.m. The cost for adults is $5.00; children ages 5-12 is $3; and children under 5 are free. Tickets can be purchased from a board member or at the door.
Quilt Block Class
The Master Clothing Volunteers will host a Strip Quilt Block Tablerunner Class at the Graves County Extension Office on October 8 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The fee for the class is $5.00. Class members need to bring a sewing machine, sewing kit, and 1½ yards of a base fabric. If you need a machine, please let the Extension Office know. Space is limited, so please RSVP by October 1 by calling at 270-247-2334.
St. James AME Fish Fry
St. James AME Church, 419 South 8th Street, Mayfield will host a 'Fish Fry' on Saturday, Sept. 14 beginning at 11 a.m. The menu will consist of Catfish Filets, Cole Slaw, White Beans, Hushpuppies, Spaghetti, Dessert & Drink. Eat in or carry out available.
Fulton Genealogical Society
The Fulton Genealogical Society will be meeting Thursday, September 19 at 11:30 a.m. at the Keg Restaurant on Lake Street in Fulton. This year we will be eating off of the buffet, a meat, two vegetables, tea, and salad. Please have check for Elaine or correct change $9. This includes tip. Charles and Denise Berryhill will entertain for the program.
The Tilghman Beauregard SCV Camp #1460 in Mayfield is sponsoring a 'Ghost Walk' on Saturday, Sept 21. at 7 p.m. Tickets are being sold at the Ice House during Gourd Festival and will also be sold at the cemetery gate. The Ghost Walk will be taking place at the Maple Wood Cemetery in Mayfield. There will be people portraying historical people who were involved with the War between the States. There will be a meeting with the 'Celebrate Lynnville, KY's 200th birthday in 2020 Committee' on Monday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the House of Worship Fellowship room located on Hwy 94E, approx. 11/2 miles east of the center of Lynnville. 110th Anniversary of St. Jerome School
The 100th anniversary of the completion of St. Jerome School will be celebrated on Sept. 22 from 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. A brief ceremony will begin at 12:15 p.m. with Bishop William Medley and Father Darrell Venters making remarks at the school and museum. A time capsule will also be available for comments to be dropped. Refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome to attend.
