A brief foot pursuit with Mayfield Police officers resulted in an arrest on multiple charges.

On Sunday, officers responded to the area of North 18th Street and Ridgeway for a report of a suspicious person. While en route, officers were advised that the suspicious person was Jason Andrews and that he had an active arrest warrant out of Carlisle County.

As officers neared the area, Andrews was observed walking north on North 18th towards a soybean field. Andrews began to flee but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.

Andrews, 49, was placed under arrest and charged with Second-Degree Fleeing or Evading Police (On Foot); First-Degree Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

He was also served the arrest warrant for Failure to Appear in Carlisle District Court and was taken to the Graves County Jail.
