John Dunn moves his paint roller to add a bright, fresh coach of white paint to the bricks and concrete of CFSB War Memorial Stadium. A graduate of Mayfield High School, Dunn, 67, called being able to touch up the 72-year-old structure a “labor of love.” Expressing that love in paint is apparently hereditary. Dunn said his mother, Mary Francis Dunn, painted the cardinal bird on the gym floor in the late 1930s when the former Mayfield High School’s auditorium was built, then painted it again in 1969 when the gym was repainted. The new paint job was through the sponsorship funding by CFSB.
