Four Graves County residents escaped serious injury Wednesday night during a two-vehicle crash on Ky. 303 at Slaughter Road.

Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden said deputies were dispatched at 9:30 p.m. for a two-vehicle wreck with injuries. Emma Preston, 17 reportedly failed to yield the right-of-way when attempting to turn left from Slaughter onto Ky. 303. Judy Crawford, 51, who was traveling south on 303, crashed into the driver's side rear of Preston's vehicle.

Crawford's vehicle then struck the end of a guardrail on the right side of the road and went into a ditch. Both vehicles were disabled and had to be towed from the site.

Preston, Crawford and two unidentified passengers in Crawford's vehicle were transported by Mayfield/Graves County EMS to Jackson Purchase Medical Center with apparently minor injuries.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office was also assisted by Kentucky State Police, the Sedalia Fire Department and the Mayfield Fire Department.
