Mayfield Police Chief Nathan Kent reported the following arrests and warrants served in the past few days:
n Daniel Rust, 45, was arrested Thursday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs during a traffic stop at U.S. 45 North and Lawn Drive. MPD officers reported that Rust smelled of alcohol and exhibited slurred speech and was subjected to a battery of sobriety tests. An open whiskey bottle was allegedly found inside the vehicle and a bag of suspected marijuana was found in his pocket, according to the report. Rust was additionally charged with failure to wear a seat belt, possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana. He was taken to Graves County Jail.
n Stephanie R. Burgess, 55, of Mayfield was arrested Thursday at the corner of Water and 15th streets and charged with failure to appear in court.
MPD officers received a tip from a caller that Burgess was seen walking around in the area, and MPD was aware that she was wanted. Burgess was charged and taken to Graves County Jail.
n Denzel Perry, 20, of Mayfield was arrested Thursday when he turned himself in to police on a charge of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence, minor injury). He was taken to Graves County Jail.
