A man sustained head injuries after veering off Ky 94 early Friday morning.

At approximately 1:20 a.m., the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, Graves County Fire Department, Cuba Fire Department, and Mayfield-Graves County Ems were dispatched to the 6000 block of Ky 94 East for a single vehicle collision with injuries. Deputy Marcus Burnett’s investigation showed that Shawn Coursey, 30, of Fulton, was traveling west on Ky 94 East when he ran off of the right side of the roadway. His vehicle travelled down the embankment for approximately 25 feet before coming to rest on its side in a creek bed. He was trapped in the vehicle, and had sustained a head injury, along with additional minor injuries. The fire department extricated Coursey using the jaws of life. He was taken to Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah for treatment of his injuries.

Deputy Burnett was assisted on scene by Sgt. Richard Edwards, Mayfield-Graves County EMS, Graves County Fire Department, and Cuba Fire Department.
