Mayfield Police Chief Nathan Kent reported the following arrests, warrants served and traffic incidents:
Dalevontea Mason, 26, of Mayfield, was arrested at the Mayfield Police Department on three warrants out of Graves County. Two of the warrants were for Failure to Appear and the third was for Probation Violation. He was also found to be in possession of illegal substances and received the additional charges of Possession of a Legend Drug and Possession of Marijuana. He was taken to Graves County Jail.
On Thursday, the Mayfield Police Department responded to the area of Paris Road and Barton Drive for a reported intoxicated driver. They received information that the suspected vehicle had hit the Captain D’s building while leaving the drive-thru, and had headed East on Barton Drive. The vehicle was located parked at the Plaza Apartments and a traffic stop was conducted. As Officers exited their vehicles, the vehicle drove off, turning west on Wyatt Drive. It was stopped again on Wyatt Drive where they took the driver, Briana Jones, 34, of Mayfield, into custody. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected on her person, and several open alcohol containers were located inside the vehicle. A check of her driver’s license showed it to be suspended for a DUI second offense DUI from August 2020. It was also learned that she had an active warrant for her arrest. Briana Jones was arrested for Operating Motor Vehicle Under The Influence Of Alcohol .08 — Third Offense (Aggravated); First-Degree Fleeing Or Evading Police (Motor Vehicle); Possession Of Open Alcohol Containers in Motor Vehicle Prohibited; and Driving On Dui Suspended License — First Offense. She was additionally charged with a bench warrant out of Graves County District Court for Second Degree Bail Jumping.
