The Mayfield/Graves County Chamber of Commerce has a new president and CEO.

The chamber’s Board of Directors recently announced the promotion of Allison Sloan to that role. Sloan had been the chamber’s relations coordinator.

She replaces Denise Thompson who stepped down earlier this year following nearly seven years in that post. Sloan had served in an interim capacity since March.

In a release to make the announcement, the Chamber of Commerce’s executive team stated that for the last several months, the Board of Directors has engaged in a lengthy process to hire a new president/CEO.

“As a board, we re-imagined a job description that best supported the business interests of our community. The Board of Directors participated in strategic planning to connect the mission and vision of the Chamber to the needs of our community and serve as a guide in the selection of the next president/CEO,” the release read. “After careful review of all candidates, it became ever clearer that the best candidate was already working at the Chamber.”

The release added, “Allison’s body of work as the interim leader of the Chamber made a more than compelling case to identify her as the front runner to be the next president/CEO. She has proven professional experience, as well as strong community relationships, both of which make her an excellent fit for the Mayfield/Graves County Chamber of Commerce.”
