The South Graves Community Emergency Response Team (SGCERT) will meet Tuesday, March 23, for FEMA-based training. The training will be held over eight consecutive Tuesday nights.

It will begin at 6:30 p.m. and may cover three hours. The training will be held at the St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Wingo in the Church Activity Center.

For those who may have to miss one or two classes, organizers will attempt to hold additional sessions. However, those who wish to attend are asked to register.

The training will be conducted primarily by Graves County Emergency Management Director Tracy Warner along with others with specific knowledge and training applicable to the course sections.

The sections of the course that will be taught include: Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety, Medical Procedures, Light Search and Rescue, CERT Organization, Disaster Psychology, Terrorism and CERT, and Disaster Response.

All needed materials for the training will be supplied by the Graves County EM and FEMA team and St. Paul’s Methodist Church.
