After two decades, the 124th presentation of "The Promise" has been postponed.
An emailed release from Trace Creek Baptist Church's Women's Ministry said the decision came about as a result of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and social distancing guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control.
"In light of the current social distancing guidelines set forth by the CDC, we feel that it is in the best interest of those involved in the presentation, as well as our guests," the email read.
The church hopes to reschedule the play which has been performed since 2000 for the Easter season. A cast and crew of nearly 200 portray the life of Christ from Old Testament prophecies through the resurrection and ascension.
People are encouraged to follow the church on Facebook at The Promise at Trace Creek Baptist Church to receive updates or contact the church office at 270-658-3304 for additional information.
