Two men were arrested in connection to shooting on Friday morning that left one woman hospitalized.
Police Chief Nathan Kent reported that at approximately 12:50 a.m., a shooting occurred at an apartment on South 12th Street in Mayfield. Individuals showed up at the residence and attempted to force their way in before they ultimately shot into the residence, striking one 34-year-old female victim. She was taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of her gunshot wound but was reportedly in stable condition.
As Mayfield Police Department (MPD) officers arrived, the involved subjects fled the scene. After following up on leads, the MPD was able to identify the persons involved. Three individuals were located in Murray, and subsequently interviewed. Kman Buchanan, 18, of Murray, and Dillon Hildebrant, 19, of Murray, were both arrested and taken to the Calloway County Jail.
Buchanan was charged with First-Degree Assault, and First-Degree Attempted Assault.
