An 18-year-old Water Valley man was injured in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon south of Mayfield.
According to Graves County Sheriff's Captain Jeremy Prince, deputies responded to an injury crash around 1 p.m. on Ky. 303. Prince states in the report that Andrew Koehn, 18, was northbound on 303 in a 2007 Honda Accord. He was following Jesus Hernandez Delgado, 36 of Cuba, who was operating a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado.
Delgado was slowing to turn into a driveway when Koehn struck the Silverado in the rear, according to the report. Delgado spun 180 degrees and came to rest in the roadway ditch. Koehn, meanwhile, continued northbound for a short distance, ran off of the left side of the roadway and impacted with an earth embankment.
Delgado was not injured in the collision. Koehn was transported to a local hospital by a family member for treatment of minor leg injuries.
The report said distracted driving appeared to have been a contributing factor.
Prince investigated this collision and was assisted by Sgt. David Warner, Deputy Dale Mason and Mayfield/Graves County EMS.
