Over the last two years, the West Kentucky Amateur at Mayfield-Graves Country Club has become a family affair.

Last June, former Mayfield Cardinal and Kentucky Wesleyan Panther Carter Dodson was victorious, shooting a two day score of 69-73—142.

This year, Carter’s twin brother Collins got in on the fun, shooting a course-low 62 in his opening round to take a commanding lead into the final day of action.

The course was less forgiving to Dodson on Sunday as he finished with a 73 but thanks to a stellar opening round, Dodson was crowned champion with a two day total of 62-73—135.

While Collins received his much deserved shine following the win, Carter had no reason to hang his head as he finished closely behind in a tie for second place with Chris Wilson.
