Neely Shoulta throws no-hit shutout vs. Mayfield

Graves County's Neely Shoulta pitched a no-hit shutout over three innings against Mayfield Monday. At first base is sister, Laney Shoulta.

Graves County did a ton of damage in the top of the first inning Monday, jumping out to a 14-0 lead on crosstown and Third District rival Mayfield.

The Lady Eagles moved three more runners across home plate in the second for a 17-0 victory.

It gave Graves County a 3-0 standing in the district and dropped the Lady Cardinals to 0-3.

The Lady Eagles went through their batting lineup twice in the first inning for 12 of their 17 total hits. That included a triple and double by Bailey Wilson and a double by Neely Shoulta.

With two outs in the second, Graves finished its scoring, punctuated with a RBI triple by Laney Shoulta.

Mayfield recorded six errors in the loss with half of those in the first inning.

Laney Shoulta was 3-for-4 and Cassidy Payne was 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs each. Wilson was 4-for-4 and Kristin Wimsatt was 3-for-3, both of whom recorded 2 RBIs. Memphis Lassiter was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Neely Shoulta (3-2) threw the no-hit shutout.
